Last fall I was told there was a 2 page article in EQ about processing vocals. (Remove Hiss, Delete Silences, Reduce (not remove) Breaths and Artifacts, and Phrase by Phrase Normalization.)
It also mentioned SoundForge, Audition, Sampllitude and Wavelab.
