Does anyone have the instructions for that?

I sure would like to replace the ridiculous Orange pad lights by blue ones. One post at Roland Clan illustrates a Fantom with Blue instead of orange (I think it is Madonna's keyboard player). I wonder if the bulbs are just tinted orange, and whether they could be replaced by blue ones.

Is the bulbs pannel accessible at all? Has anyone else tried this at home? If there are indeed bulbs and I can get to them, should be no problem tracking equivalent ones in some electronics shop and replace them for blue.

So, anyone has any experience with doing this? Perhaps a web link?

Thanks!

Well I'm trying to talk to a Roland service technician over here, and probably will succeed tomorrow. His boss told me that it should not be too difficult to pull out by myself. However I want at least to make sure I have the proper bulbs specification before I arm myself with a screw driver, flashlight and courage...

Am I the only one that thinks the orange color of the pad buttons makes it an absolute nuisance, not to mention how cheesy they look????

Are you sure those are incandescent bulbs and not LEDs? It's hard to believe that Roland would stick in a bunch of bulbs, which are power hogs, generate heat, and are not an item that come in colors. On the other hand, LEDs are available in lots of colors. If they're LEDs, you might be in luck with a drop-in replacement. If they are bulbs, drop-in LED replacements are also available. I just talked to a Roland technician from Gatineau, and he told me that it should be possible, although Roland obviously "disapproves" of it. The LED under the Skip Back Sampling button should be the same as the ones under the pads, and it's all a question of getting to it, checking its specs as well as those of the orange ones and replace the orange for blue.

This guy said one problem I could have is that some LEDs are three-pin, namely if they change colors. However I think this is not the case, and I will try opening the hood of my Fantom and see how hard it actually is to get to the Pad leds.

In case someone has any tips on the "hood opening" procedure and wants to share I am all ears .

i try this in my roland d-5 before, i replace the green LED (stock) to paper white LED, just a little soldering to 8pc of LED to LCD pannel, and whala!!!!! its look like a cellphone..
here in the philippine we can buy a LED to a cellphone that match the LED of my D-5...im planning to replace the amber color of my new roland JUNO-D to white or a blue, maybe i post a pic how to replace a LED of my keyboard..... but i think this will void the warranty of my JUNO-D.... but i take the risk
