Here's a simple bass trap frame design (based on Ethan Winer's 24" corner panel) I plan to put some 2" or 4" 703 inside and mount to the corners of my studio behind the monitors. The extra 'tabs' above and below are to mount the traps to the wall. I plan to cover with some muslin.

That looks good, but for corner bass trapping you want four inches thick (or more) - two inches won't cut it.

Ok, I'll stick with the 4". - Do you think it's necessary to trap bass in all corners of the studio? (one the side with monitors). I could build these where the side walls meet the ceiling and the wall behind the monitors meet the ceiling too..I don't know if that's overkill.
Thx.

The more bass trapping, the better.
Overkill is basically impossible.

I think your framing might be a little overkill... the panels aren't all that heavy... you should do fine without the horizontal pieces that are flush to the walls, and the piece in the very corner. This will also increase the volume behind the panel which in theory is good (although perhaps not a noticeable improvement).

Just my 2 cents

Ok, I can see that. I guess I was trying to make a frame to keep the insulation from falling out the bottom. Plus my insulation is 1" think so i have to stack it up x 4..
I plan to wrap the whole thing in fabric with the wood inside -
Thanks Ydope - the more the merrier - got it..

I'm concerned about the front of the panel staying flat. I don't really have any way to attach the frame to the front piece of insulation or to attach each piece of insulation to each other. I need to figure some way to make it keep its shape. Maybe i should duct tape the insulations together. Here's a design with almost no frame.

This might do it - I put some cross bars on the front to stop the insulation from pushing forward, as there's nothing supporting the back of the insulation (it might push forward).
