My mix room might have a bunch of open windows on one wall. I could orient my mix station so that this wall was at the "back" of the room.

I realize there might be noise outside but, would open windows be effective at dispersing low-frequency energy? I mean, that's one whole big portion of wall that won't be reflecting sound, and it'd be directly behind me, at the back of the room.

Ideas?

Yes, an open window is a perfect absorber. In fact, the definition of one sabin of absorption is an opening to the outside one square foot in size.
