Hi All,

Thank you so much to everyone for your knowledge and experience on this invaluable forum. I have an odd sized room (actually a loft) and need some advice regarding the 38% rule. The loft's dimensions are up for question because the one end of the loft opens up into the rest of the condo. (Please observe the pictures I've posted). The loft also has an asymmetrical, vaulted ceiling. One wall being 8' 6" high and the other being 9' 5" high, with a peak height of 11' 5" high. The width of the loft is really the only thing I can accurately measure 8' 4".
The real question is how should I consider measuring the length of the loft? Do I imagine that the blue curtain is my back wall and thus measure from the front wall to the blue curtain? (which happens to be 13' 7") Or, do I measure the length from the front wall all the way across the catwalk? (Which is 20') As it is now, I have used the curtain as my back wall measurement and set my listening position up based on the 38% rule using that measurement.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Erik

No, the room length from a mode perspective is between rigid boundaries.
