I recently bought a subscription through Great American Opportunities 1-800-251-1542 as part of a school fundraiser. They sent me vouchers for an alternate selection because they say you "will be ceasing publication". I called them to double check this and they maintained it as fact. Judging from the look and feel of the magazine, it appears you're pretty healthy. Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like a scam, unfortunately for you.

(I think most of the staff is at NAMM so they might not be as responsive. You might consider calling their offices.)

I got this too. It wasn't a scam, as they offered a voucher and a choice of another subscription to another magazine. They don't stand to make money, so I didn't know what was up.

It's a come-on of some kind, that's for sure. Short answer: this is complete and total B.S. Keyboard isn't going anywhere. I talked to our publisher about what you heard today, and he just laughed. I'll try to see that whoever's responsible for putting out this information gets a call from us though. When that happens, nobody will be laughing. Thanks for the heads-up, though. \:\)

It's not a lot of money, but how do you think I should proceed? Take the voucher for Rolling Stone?

Ask for a refund so that you can subscribe to Keyboard

I would. At least they print the interviews the same way they were given. Keybaord's morality police hack up interviews into swiss cheese.

Just because the subscription service says Keyboard's going out of business doesn't make it true. I'll bet a tofu burger that they just lost their contract to sell subscriptions to Keyboard and tried the old bait and switch (or maybe they'll make more on something else).

Glad to hear it's not true, though! I'm subscribed for a LONG time!
