Hey!

I have a question on how volume affects room measurements. If say I'm using Ethan's Sonar Project file to measure my room response, will volume affect the results? In other words, will I get the same results independent of how loud or how soft I perform the test?

Furthermore, does the Fletcher-Munson curve or the Equal-Loudness contour have any effect on the test? Or does it only apply to how WE (humans not microphones) percieve loudness?

Thanks and sorry if this has been answered before. I did several searches and couldn't find anything on this.

Loudness and Fletcher-Munson are irrelevant when testing a room. Acoustics are linear, so the same thing happens at soft and loud volumes. However, you do need to test loudly enough to see the full extent of nulls. If your test tones are too soft, room noise might fill in the nulls making the response look better than it really is.
