Gotta love our new guitar player !! He sent me a mail a while ago saying: "Contact this guy, he's got a radio show with live session and interviews, so maybe you can get him to book us." The other day I finally got around to calling, and the guy said something along the lines of "sure, send an email to the myspace page and we'll agree on a date."
I send the mail, explain who we are, what we do and what we play and the next day he calls me back (at work) and we spend a half hour discussing music and his show and such. Turns out he's quite the Johnny Cash fan and loves our repertoire, AND he's seen us play at a local festival when we were just a three-piece. I'm not sure, but I may have even talked to him then.
So today at rehearsal we're going to agree on a date, and then I'm going to spend the best part of tomorrow figuring out how long we're supposed to play. The show goes on for 2 hours but I think it's usually 2 bands. The fun part is that the gig will be recorded and we can bring along fans to come and watch the show
I'm excited about this, it's just a local affair but if we play our cards right we'll come out with a decent live recording which we can use for promotional purposes, and it'll give our fans (all 3 of them
) the chance to hear what The Dapper Dans Mk II sounds like
[note] I'm cross posting this on the Lowdown Low Down and Downstairs Lounge fora as well, cos I want the attention
