Ethan,

I was very interested in your PVB after researching it seem to be better…. A lot better then the sE reflextion filter. But I really couldn’t justify the price. But after talking to scott (which he was very helpful) I decided to make my own minitraps similar to what you did. I know it won’t be as good as yours as I’m sure you have some secret materials but I’ll get more bang for my buck. My main focus right now is vocals. With that said I don’t know if I should go with the oc 705 or the 703. The 705 as you mentioned absorbs 40% more of the 125 hz. I want a really dry in your face sound for my vocals so I wouldn’t include that tin material.... or would I. I’m not really sure. I was thinking of building between 4 to 6 - 4x2 traps and did I want to double up the 2 inch OC 705/703 and make them 4 inches thick or just keep it at 2? I figure I could use them for other instruments like bass which the extra thickness would help more.

Basically:

Do I want to use the 705 or the 703(cheaper is good for me)?

Can I use a combination of the 705 and the 703?

Do I want any “tin like material” (can’t remember the name) if I want my vocals to be completely dry or will that in some way hurt them if they are to dry?

Do I want 2 inches or 4 in thickness?

I’m sure these question or elementary to you but I just want to get it right the first time and any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Either will work well enough. But 705 is a little better, and it's more stable and nicer to work with.

Correct.

If you'll also use them for bass traps I'd make them four inches thick.
