Hi, I have an AT8040 condenser mic which has recently developed the annoying problem of audible low freq clicks at around 1-3 hz.

Have I blown something in the circuitry?

Thanks,
Howard

Howard, I'm not trying to be condescending here, but if they're at 1-3Hz, they're not audible. The audible spectrum doesn't extend below 20Hz. Literally, the human ear can't detect such a low frequency, and no speaker on the market could reproduce it.

Griff, I'm guessing he meant 1-3K. AAR, there is no AT mic with that number listed. If it's the 4040, I'd check the phantom power with a different mic. Sounds like a cap may be breaking over then recharging, either in the mic or the supply.

Best, Paul
