Hi there, I'm a newbie from across the pond, so sorry if this has been posted before or if it's in the wrong place. Anyway, while jealously looking at the competition page in this months issue (us Brits can't enter) I noticed it said:
"In order to win the prize, residents of Canada will be required to answer correctly a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered via telephone"
Now, this strikes me as a tad unfair to your Canadian cousins, why are they made to answer a maths question before being allowed to win a prize but Americans aren't?
Just wondered if anyone knew the answer to this, as to be honest it doesn't endear your magazine to much.

Hey Graham, We love bass players everywhere, don't blame us! Blame Canada.
The rules governing all giveaways (not competitions, mind you, they're quite different) differ from country to country. So much so, that we can only offer giveaways for U.S. and Canada residents. In Canada, they require all giveaway winners to pass a basic math test. Us here in the U.S. don't have to pass a math test, to which many millions of Americans say, "Yippee!"

Truth is we Americans can't answer the math questions, and we cant compete with the UK cauz you guys are so cool.
I should send a letter to my congressman but I'm too lazy.
