Well, the writing had been on the wall for awhile, as those who follow my posts will already know. The bass player was unhappy doing the same set time after time, year in, year out. The drummer was never thrilled with the singer to start with. The singer felt too attached to certain songs to give them up. And there I was in the middle, trying to make the whole thing work.
The only sad part of it is that we honestly were a pretty damn good band. But I saw everyone's point of view, and the answer was obvious: it had to go. You get past a point of being able to repair things, and there's no compromise from either side of the equation. Time to call it a day. So, my former cover band Liquid is no more! We did our last gig on June 19.
So, no need to despair. Change is good, they say, and I tend to agree. For the time being, I'm working on my solo material stuff, and setting up some jams with a new cast of characters. Should be fun.

Still sorry to hear it. Hopefully this is a good thing in the long run. At least you have a musical goal that you are working towards until the next band comes along.

I promise you, Jay: it's a good thing.
In related news, I'm getting a few friends together for a jam within a couple of weeks. You folks will be the first to know how it goes!

I'm wishing you the best now that Liquid has dried up.
Your statement "I saw everyone's point of view" struck me, as I often find myself in that situation on some issues. Being the mediator (moderator??) is a lot of work. When people are willing to give a bit you can keep the thing going. When people are too far apart you have to separate yourself a bit or get burned. It sounds like you made it out alive, and that's great.
Tom (given that first line, maybe it's better that I stay mostly in the Low Down!)
