Some questions about the Guitar Hero contest

I was on sonicbids filling out the application and some questions came up.
Application - Are you a guitar player in a band who is entering your band's EPK for consideration?
Well, I think so, I play guitar and sing. I have my own band, and all my songs have vocals. Does that fit into the competition? Or is it for instrumentals only?
Application - By checking this box, I understand that this is a competition for guitar players and that ONLY the guitar player will be performing at the Guitar Hero event.
So does this mean that if I were to make it to the final stage, I would have to play covers, or would I be able to play my own music? The way I write is every much a part of my guitar playing as anything else.
And last, not all of my music has ripping guitars, in fact most of my tunes feature melodic and textural playing, so should I even bother posting these songs or just stick with the ones with solos? In other words, do you consider other aspects than just lead playing?

Hi GtrWiz...
We ask that the song you play in the GH07 finals is an original guitar instrumental so that [a] you control all the rights and can assign them to us so we can promote your performance, and [b] we keep the focus on guitar playing rather than singing (after all, that's what the competition is about -- GUITAR PLAYING).
I believe you can enter as many times as you like, although I assume SonicBids will charge you for each submission.
We do judge on "interesting" guitar playing. You don't have to be a shredder -- and we've had everything from classical acoustic to country players in past competitions -- but you do have to wow the GP staff in some way. How that happens is as mysterious as music itself! I'd simply post a performance I was totally happy with, as it does no good to try and get into the judges' headspaces.

At least the judges HAVE headspaces....
Seriously, for me to say, "Editor Boy, you're my best buddy..." would be an insult to everyone's intelligence, mine, yours, and most importantly, the audience's... REMEMBER THEM???
