Having just spent an eternity trying to search for some threads, I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread where we could reference and share our favourite, popular and useful threads. Rather than trying to bump threads and direct newbies all the time. Maybe we could just bump this one, or maybe a nice moderator might make it a sticky. It could become a guide to top threads.
Two obvious ones to get started with:

They're all in different threads David. Just search by name of poster and you'll get plenty of fine reading!

No man! I was being touchy!
Just cool to look around before you post. There have been a lot of great threads already on the forum. For instance, when I had to learn to sing and play at the same time, rather than post a new thread I found 6 excellent ones which gave me all I need.
Mind you, the search function was easier in those days so no problem to start new threads. Check through the threads linked on this thread, feel free to ask questions or contribute; your enthusiasm and questions are good to have around here.

And feel free to start a thread on muting, we've discussed it at length before but it's an important and overlooked issue.

There's a whole debate about whether it's better to start new threads than bump old ones anyway. Here we've often tended towards the latter and avoided those forums that are full of those new 'Can you recommend an amp? type threads started every few days. In part this is because we're a smaller community than the likes of Talkbass and it's actually possible to keep up with the threads and posts.
Stick around Karl, it's good to have you here.

What's The Difference Between A Precision And A Jazz Bass?
This thread contains the final word on the subject as written by Ed Friedland. It's my favorite post.

I am humbled that this ridiculous fun little project got suggested on this thread. Truth be told I actually picked up that bass last night and played around with it a bit. I'm still shocked at this day how good it sounds; even unamplified. Must have been a really good tree or something.
I'd also LOVE to be able to link a rant that I posted on this forum several years ago on the idiotic "this vs. that" topics that occasionally pop up. Alas even the awesome power of Google.com has not been able to find and resurface that thread for me. I fear that it may be lost in the ether. The end result of the rant was basically this:
"Your favorite <whatever> sucks because someone else will like something else so deal with it" oh yeah and, "these topics are pointless". However I said it in much more words that resembled War & Peace in length.
