Michael, do you remember what he was using (and the patch) when he was doing the "he had a hat" thing? I'm curious. Love that tune.

Hey Linwood, thanks for the kind words! Jeff was a blast too interview, and I'm glad to hear you dug the interview.
Re: the "He Had a Hat" sound, I'm guessing it was the Rhodes he showed me in the studio, the one we have a little footage of posted at keyboardmag.tv, but I'm afraid I can't say definitively. We talked about a lot of things that afternoon.:) In fact, I'll shoot him a note right now and see if he can recall.

Michael, kudos on the Jeff Lorber interview. He is a great guy isnt he? Although I'm a newbie I've been around reading the forums....along with Greg Olwell's BassPlayer forum too. Neat stuff. That He Had A Hat track is a great track. And, it was a Rhodes...not the sample, right? I had the privelege of interviewing him live in our studios last week...and he did mention that it was a Stage Rhodes. I saw your footage too on the .tv. Really cool. Our interview with Jeff posts tomorrow at http://www.insidemusicast.com...it's a podcast show....we interview players/musos/producers, etc....and Jeff was, as you mention, "a blast to interview". I hope you have a chance to check us out. Next week we post an interview with bassist Brian Bromberg who I had the chance to have dinner with along with Jeff. They're the best. Kudos to your forum and the best to you. I'll stop by now and then. Cheers.

I haven't listened to/watched the clips from the interview, but as I posted in the Corner, the interview was excellent. Lorber's attitude was really right on and inspiring. Nice job, Michael (seems like you wrote half the June issue - they're keeping you busy, eh?).
"Super Fusion Unit" indeed. LOL
