I don't know if this is the right area to post this but....
I'd like to see more lessons that are relevant to weekend bar giggers like me. I switch between keys and guitar at gigs (yeah I'm haulin' two rigs!) but as a low level player that can actually read music I'd like to have sheet music/lessons on the techniques and songs from groups like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Doors, Jackson Browne, etc. Why don't I be a little more specific; I'd like to know exactly how to play the ending on Sweet Home Alabama. I've also been working on the Locomotive Breath intro which would be a lot easier/quicker with the help of some sheet music. The resources for guitarists have become mind boggling since the days I repeatedly scratched needles across albums trying to learn the bits but I haven't seen anything even close happen in the keyboard world.
Does this seem like a legitimate beef or have things been flying under my radar?

I think your suggestion is excellent! Why don't we have a Rock Piano Workshop, and ask Forum members such as yourself what tunes they'd love to have broken down and explained. We can have the lessons in print, online, and on our TV site.

Think this is a good idea? Lemme know!

Best,

Ernie

Sounds good to me. So much of the sheet music in the mag seems to be Jazz. not a bad thing but more rock n roll! Also more hardware reveiws! I know many use soft synths, which is fine, but it seems a little disproportionate. Other than those small gripes keep up the good work.

Maybe start the column with the main parts/songs people want, and then have an online forum where the rest of the piece can be posted by individual members who know. Could also be a place where the song requests are usually made...
