Molenda skipped over me 150 times and chose punk-rock guys who jump up and down real fast and generic shreddicists to be in GP over me.
Oh well. I'll live anyway. Maybe I can sell off my gear and pay off my bills.

Hehe, can I have your stuff.
Actually you play quite well. The overall sound is nice, good vocals and production. I'm sure MM gets flooded with lots of pages since he started soliciting the myspace hordes. I guess you have to catch his particular tastes or whatever strikes his fancy at the right moment. I think we all do that, you can't be objective in everything.

Blows? Wow. Someone needs to learn humility. (Now don't get you ire up yet..)
Against my better judgement I checked out your link. I say "against my better judgement" because this appears to be a spam designed to get people to check out your site. But anyway...
You play fine. The music recording is good although the voice sounds like someone sang karoke over a track because it stands out too much. But the guitar playing is good.
But it isn't great. It isn't unique. It isn't inspired, IMHO. If you are upset at those entries Michael has picked over yours that's your opinion and business. I have neither seen his picks nor heard any of them so I can't comment on their technical ability or musicality. But if Michael is inundated with submissions, as I believe he probably is, I would guess there are plenty I'd pick over what I heard on your myspace page. (And I like the style you're playing.)
You've grabbed some attention. Keep woodshedding. Perhaps you'll find something Michael appreciates enough to put in the magazine. Or give up on getting this exposure and keep on, keepin' on in the clubs and just be happy to be playing for the people.

Thanks for sharing. When I get some free time I'll check out your music. I'm sure since you went out of your way to share so very much of your opinion, your music is probably at the very pinnacle of the music food chain.
Looking forward to it. Thanks again.

Hey...
It's true that I'm buried in submissions, and I'm sure I miss quite a few jewels. I do try to spread out the selections to include all styles, and it's absolutely true what Gruupi said -- that some listening days are more inspired than others due to whatever mood I'm in, and the quality of the first dozen or so submissions I've checked out.
I thought your tracks seemed fine -- although they glitched on both my work and home computers, and any glitches tend to make me assign an immediate "pass," because I want to ensure our readers can check out the music without any potential hassles.
All of this stuff is subjective, of course, and if I pick some "punk rock" band over a glorious shredder or whatever, than that's just me being me. Or maybe the punk band did something original or cool to seduce my ear and the shredder didn't. In any case, no one should take it personally if I don't pick them.
Cheers, Mike

Everybody gets passed over regularly. Keep practicing and submitting yer work. Sooner or later it'll fly if yer really good and do something original (harder and harder to do).
Good shredders, rockers, bluesers, jazzers... are all a dime a dozen these days. With the web, tabs, instructional videos and all there are too many good (technically) players out there. Most of them have not paid their dues, learned to play with feeling, do nothing original and don't even know who Jeff Beck is.
;-)
good luck

playing is about doing what you love and having fun with it.it is great to be noticed, but it is not the point.i heard about so many artists feeling slighted.move on and get over it.you have to be thick skinned to be in the music business especially if you are a musician.do it for yourself first and if it is truly honest guitarplaying people will notice.peace...

you gotta be strong in the music business. you have to know you are the best to really get anywhere. and you can't let others tell you any different. when i get up and play in front of an audience I dont really give two sh**s about what anyone thinks. Im usually in my own world and sometimes I dont even know that Im playing. its like a natural occurence where the music takes over my mind and my body is just there reacting to the music at the same time. Everyone has there own playing style and one can not be deemed as better or right.

can anyone tell me how to send letters to guitarplayer so they could possibly be printed. the site gives no clues as to how or where to do that. anyone read the nickel strings article?? I think there's a huge difference between pure nickel and round wound as well as coated strings. not only is there a difference in production cost, but the article failed to mention that pure nickel strings do not stay in tune very well and they last about a quarter of the time as typical playing strings do. In fact I haven't played my strat in a month cuz I last threw on a set of Ernie Ball rock n' roll 9's. they never actually went in tune or if they did it was only very brief. the strings started getting spots within the first day. I will never buy pure nickel again. it was a waste of money. I prefer the Elixir nano-webs. now those are some excellent strings/ anyone care to say different>>>?
