Just curious on how things are going. Have you tried maybe treating more than 4 corners? You have 12. You could play 42hz and see which corner the peak is in.
If you put a 12" wide panel behind your corner panels you could help them to absorb a little bit lower.
I'll try measuring the corners with my SPL meter. I wasn't aware that putting a 1' wide panel behind the 2' would work for the deep stuff, I should have some leftover Roxul 12lb to try that.
The last thing I tried was 4' wide traps in the rear corners, one was a pair of the traps I already made (3" 12lb roxul) and the other corner had the OFI-48 (3lb 4" thick) also 4' wide from floor to ceiling. That had no effect on the 42hz dip so I put them back to 2' traps in each corner and then tried a trap all along the rear floor/wall junction with 4" of the 703 type stuff. Again no effect on the 42hz dip.
Being that the room is mostly used for home theater, I can't utilize the other 8 "corners" without making it look junky and just plain in the way. The 2' wide traps just don't seem to be enough to get that low.

I have a pretty major problem in the 40-50hz range. My listening room is my living room and I have to couch way too close to the back wall.
I was hoping you had found something that helped. The problem is at 42hz you really need to brute force that null away. I have two 8ft tall Ultratouch cotton corner wedges and they barely do anything for my 40-50 hz peak. I am betting that I need to treat another 20 linear feet of corners to get that peak tamed.
One thing I have seen that helped for a 40hz peak was a large(4ftx6ft) 6" thick Gobo. He had it spaced several feet off of his back wall and it got rid of his peak.
Well good luck. I should finish up my room in a month or less. Keep an eye out for my results.
