I just wanted to compliment the GP editors on the product round-up in this issue! Your review of 35 electric guitars priced under $500 was extremely easy to read and to use to compare the models reviewed. The numerical chart with brief commentary from 5 reviewers provides an elegant overview "at-a-glance", and subsequent photos with model street prices and stats make the entire article both meaningful and truly USEFUL. I was not looking to buy another guitar but after reading and comparing I went to my local dealer to check out the PRS SE Soapbar II, one of your "Guitar Player Picks" with highest rankings. I was immediately impressed by the superb sound, playability and simplicity of this guitar, not to mention the price. I found the guitar to be exactly as described in your article and bought it on the spot! Thanks so much for your efforts and insightfulness. Keep up the great work!

I agree, it was great to see reviews of guitars that a regular person can afford. I know I am just an old hacker but I enjoy playing here at home and cannot afford to spend thousands on a new guitar so I was very encouaged to see that some real musicians were impressed with these cheaper models. I would have liked to see more of the Washburn Idol series included in the reviews as my WI 14 is my most expensive guitar (that gives you a hint as to how cheap I am)

I would like to make a gear review suggestion.

It would be very cool, when doing shootouts especially, to have well known artists be a part of the eval process.

A guitar shootout like that but with Vai, Satriani or, in the lesser known cat., Joe Bonamassa, Paul Gilbert, or whoever - as additional evaluators would be so cool.

Hearing what well known working pros and guitar greats think about a bunch of lower budget guitars would be incredibly useful for potential buyers and all.
