im using a pc with a 5.1 soundcard with line in...what kinda mixer, mic, and what ever else i have not mentioned would i need....im talkin real basic here guys, not to much cash...lol

You don't give much info or a budget. Here's a workable setup for minimum bucks. If you have a free USB or Firewire port, either of these interfaces will replace your soundcard:

As far as a mic goes, you can't go wrong with this:

If you are already recording, I'm assuming that you have a mixing environment installed in the computer. In that case, you really don't need an outboard mixer. More suggestions? Give us more info.

i was checking out the audiophile and noticed it had no mic input...and im not recording vicals yet... i only make instrumentals so far on reason and im starting to tinker with ableton 6...i recorded something on my 3 dollar mic and it was crappy as i thought it would be but i still posted it on myspace...u guys can check out some of my instrumentals if u want at myspace.com/konchus........i was considering getting one of the line 6 ai's
