Hello guys, just wondering what your opinions are on this preamp/interface?
The add in the back of the March issue of EQ makes it look soo nice, I was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on its performance and features, because from what I've read so far, for $650-$700, I don't know if it can be beat in terms of value for an interface and '8 award winning mic pres'... Is it all its cracked up to be?

Very curious myself. It seems a lot to offer, if so... Focuite stuff started out VERY expensive, but the brand name has moved to more affordable (cheaper?) products.

Relax and float downstream...
I have one in my home project studio, along with Cubase 4.03 and 2 Behringer ADAT boxes.
Initially, I had all sorts of problems with it, with erratic behaviour, loud white noise output on start up, and other issues. I sent it back. The replacement unit, however, has worked fine. So, make sure you get it from a place with a good return policy, just in case.
Make sure that you initially make your adjustments in the software for the Pro 26 i/o before firing up Cubase....as Cubase won't recognize your audio inputs if you activate Cubase first.

that's good to know. I went to Guitar Center yesterday and the guy in the pro audio section said he'd have to order it, so I think I'll order it from the store just in case.
Any word on the quality of the preamps? I'm seriously considering this thing over the firepod simply for the quality of the preamps. Are they what they're cracked up to be in your opinion?
