I was wondering if yall have ever considered a permanent(or frequent) column devoted to shred/metal bass playing. Something that covers advanced techniques and concepts. I think a lot of your readers would enjoy it. I know bassist Kyle Honea has several lessons up on Chops from Hell. You know something like that.

Hope you consider it

I'm still curious what you all think about this. Is it a possibility?

John Myung has done lessons in BP. Not really shred related, though (IIRC), mostly scales and motifs to play in 6 string basses.

Steve DiGiorgio has a cool lesson about using the three finger picking technique on his web site.

I do wish BP would do something about it, but I'm not holding my breath. Besides, most of the 'shred' stuff for bass is taken from shred guitar, anyway, IMHO. Also, it's better to figure out other styles of music anyway, while you're in the quest to integrate speedier runs on the bass. Those walking jazz runs and octave runs can be useful for metal, too. \:\)

Okay, I give up! I will admit that I am not a puppy anymore and I don't have the slightest clue of what shredding is; hey, it took me the better part of two years to find out what the heck PHAT means. Someone please explain it to me.
