Hey I posted a comment of my opinions of John Nady and I was saddened to see that it has been deleted. Maybe these postings are just automatically deleted after a few weeks, which I hope is the case or perhaps I just told the truth and this forum takes a page from the US Government's approach to letting the general public read the truth. I hope and this is my wildest dream that John searches the internet daily for his own name and read it promptly calling the offices of EQ and threatening to pull his advertising if they did not remove the posting. If that is the case, SWEET! and he will be calling tomorrow to get the same result. Anyhow, I did not write anything totally false or unfounded in that last bit and I also did not use any language that was so abrasive as to be offensive to anyone (meaning I didnt use dirty words) so what is the deal? I am hoping you guys aren't scared to let someone voice there opinion on a forum. That is kind of what forums or for... for now I will assume that they just are automatically deleted after a few weeks. By the way guys, I was agreeing with you- but also slinging some lightning bolts at a guy who is a big boy and should be able to handle some critisism.

On to my next topic, any thoughts on the Focusrite Liquidmix?

Nothing is ever deleted automatically on these forums...at least it never has for the last several years that I've been hanging around here.

But alas...there have been some new perspectives floating around here as to what is allowed and what is not...
...and it's quite likely that your thread fell into the "verboten" category...
…though amusingly enough, it took awhile for it to disappear (and there are still traces of it as a thread title if you do a search…but there is no actual thread).
So it may be that "someone" ultimately did take offense...and contacted MP to have it removed…?

I'm surprised that you were not in any way informed of the action...or that the empty/edited thread was not left up...as has normally been the case in the past…and usually the forum moderator or administrator would place a remark stating why the content of the thread/post was deleted.
Or maybe it just fell victim to the computer gods...and turned into a meaningless jumble of code that is no longer retrievable... ;\)

But Hey…I enjoyed reading it while it was up…as I didn’t much care for the way JN jumped on Lynn Fuston over his ribbon mic article.

Well, I will say this and that will be my last comment on the subject here, JN will still always be on my list of people who have earned my harshest critisism. That is most unfortunate that it was pulled, I also feel that I deserve a reply from the operators of this forum as to why. Is it because Nady sells crap to unknowing and broke musicians? I said that, it is my opinion, and looking at reviews it is not an unfounded opinion. Is it because of the "pay to play" policy of The Pound in SF that I critisised and the fact that JN owns that spot (did some research). I guess my problem is with the whole thing that there are a few companies that act like they are doing you a favor by selling you a product at a super low price. When it does not work properly or doesnt work for long then the consumer is left having to dig in their pocket again to buy the product they should have bought in the first place. TINSTAAFL kids. These companies market themselves as a service industry providing products to the poor musicians that rival the greedy, money hoarding companies with excellent products. In the end you wind up buying the tried and true products and some guy who is selling poorly manufactured products is getting rich $99 dollars at a time. My message: If it seems to good to be true- it is, and quality in this business doesnt come cheap because proper parts are not cheap. Adventually if you stay in this business you will learn this the hard way, I just resent the marketing strategy that these cheapo companies present that they are doing the kids a favor. (and still JN is a jerk period- before you delete this, Have you met him? I have!) Allow critisism. This is not an out of place response, I am responding directly to a letter to your editors. I am resentful that you guys have censored me. Oh well SOS is not shoving a rag in my mouth... I will keep my subscription for now, but I am a paying customer and will expect to be treated as such. Please be respectful to my right to an opinion before deleting this posting by bothering to let me know why you find it unacceptable. In the Spirit of Mutual Respect- Derek U Downs CEO TSB Studios and Production INC. BTW- Who know, I might have an ad in your mag that I could pull...

Hey guys,

As it stands (lest something is going on without my knowledge) I am the only one, currently, with moderation priveleges here--and I have absolutely, positively NOT deleted anybone's comments. If you'll notice, the oldest thread that is visible is from 6/26, but that's obviously not the oldest thread to ever grace this forum. Are these threads automatically deleted after a month? That's something I'll have to consult our web department about come next work week, but I'll get an answer for you and report back when I do. I hope that's not the case, because in order to facilitate conversation in this ghost town surely we need proper archiving.

Anyhow, I am 100% opposed to censorship in any form and would never exert any kind of executive power in regards to stifling any of your posts (as long as they are in accordance with the law)--even though the original thread seemed , to me, more like an airing of dirty laundry than anything else. Whatever though--the beauty of the internet is that it's a wild west scenario of sorts, and I'm of the opinion that if somebody doesn't agree with what somebody else says...well...they are more than welcome to publically refute. All that I ask is that everybody conducts themselves with some semblance of class. So far, so good in that respect.

In regards to the LiquidMix: I'm waiting for it to show up at my office any day now. I'm way hyped to get my hands on it, as it sounds as if it's just about the coolest thing ever. Hell, I may just skip town when it does show up...

Have any of you gotten a chance to play with it yet? Opinions?

I have not but I have been promised one to try out. It does sound very cool and I will be excited to check it out. Thank you for your response! Like I said, I will assume innocence about the posting thing and I feel you on the dirty laundry but at the same time I address my real issue in the response to miroslav. I just feel like there is a misrepresentation by some companies as to the real quality of their products. I also am aware that people getting into this should have realistic ideas about the performance of a product that cost $1000 less than the item they know works. I am very stoked about the Liquid Mix- we shall all find out very soon I hope!
