So I use to get Audio Media magazine awhile back, which I always enjoyed reading.
Then the monthly issues stopped coming....???
I thought it might have been just a "subscription glitch"...so I re-subscribed... ...but still no issues.
All of a sudden...my December issue arrived...BUT...it did not arrive in hard-copy... ...instead, it came as a "digital magazine"!!!
And it appears that Audio Media is now ONLY available in hard-copy over in Europe or if you want to pay for the subscription to get delivered to you here in the USA. The new "digital magazine" is still FREE.
It's Flash-based, and it kinda' gets the job done...though it's difficult reading it in the John, unless you want to print out the pages yourself...or if you have a wireless laptop that you can take in with you!
I guess this also gives you an easy way to print out ONLY the stuff you want to read/save...hmmmmmmm….

Well I can tell you I no longer keep my issues any longer than a year. I used to have every Mix, EQ, EM from 1992 but they take up lots of space. Actually I wouldn`t mind paying $50/year to get every mag on a CD ROM just to save space. I know SOS does this but I think its more than $50/yr.

I have a pile of older EM, Mix, Audio Media, EQ... My EQ collection is about 99% complete, from it's inception!
I think this Spring it's all going to end up at the Recycling Center.
Yeah...there's quite a lot of great info in those older mags...but who the hell has time to dig for it...? My current approach is to keep the latest 3 months of each subscriptopn in my studio. Anything older, it goes in a closet...but I'm running out of space... …so this Spring...
I'm not sure how much I could get into having nothing but "all virtual" magazines...? Sure...it's easier to archive stuff...but it's a real PITA reading articles off of a computer! Much more comfortable holding a hardcopy while sitting in your favorite reading position!
possibly the wave of the friggin' future...at least until people figure out how to print more cheaply...or mail even more cheaply....I hate it. I mean I love paper but believe me every one INSIDE the fence is talking about the continued viability of print....
