Being that science depends on verifiable observation in order to provide explanations and new theories, I have noticed in articles dating back 25 years that there a lot of supposed authorative statements and theories that simply cannot be verified. Guitar myths: 1. A blade will keep up output when bending strings. 2. A powerful magnet will pull strings out of tune. 3. Tone comes from magnets. 4. Humbuckers sound fat by design.
Put it all to the test: 1. A strat with both polepieces and blades will do. 2. A tuner and a screwdriver will do. 3 & 4. The market is already geared towards tone by reason of number of windings. My neck humbucker sounds quieter and as clear as my middle single coil.
