I was just watching the Guitar Hero 2006 clips. Astonishing playing by guys nobody knows, which is very inspiring, as well as making an older guy like me (45) feel good about the many times I've said "the best guitar player in the world is in his basment somewhere practicing".

So here these guys are, they're trying like hell to show their best stuff, and they blow everyone away, and in the middle of it all is this giant drunk A-hole caroming around the stage like a cross between Foster Brooks and a horse's ass, with apologies to horses. Hey Greg, mention your one hit AGAIN. Tell us who you are AGAIN. Jesus, Trey Alexander has this awesome emotional moment telling about his dad dying and encouraging him to keep playing, and Greg Kihn wallows his dumb ass up there and makes fun of him! Keep that dude away from the bar! I'm sure Mike Molenda had no idea what a terrible MC that jerk would be or he wouldn't have stood for that nonsense would he? It looked like the judges and the audience were ready to brain the guy by the end. Congratulations to all the finalists, especially for being able to play your best stuff with the MC from hell trying to ruin it for you.
