Spent two days wandering around NAMM. First day was with Brian and his Record the Beatles co-author, Kevin Ryan. The second day was with Ross Hogarth. Here's some photos of various things:

Skipper Wise, with the forthcoming Blue "Woodpecker" active ribbon mic. It will have a 48V powered FET circuit.

Toni Fishman from Telefunken USA. No, that's not a lawsuit he's handing me. Its the Tele USA recreation of the VF14, called the VF14K. They scored 50 lbs of the original VF14 filament material. He said that the specs aren;t identical, but he thinks the sound is.

Forum member Doc Goldstein with his good friend, legendary session player, Carol Kaye.

Brian Kehew (l) and Kevin Ryan (r) let Bruce Zinky (c), the owner and designer of the new Supro amps, peruse a compy of RTB.

A poster of Paul Stanley, looking like he's just been kicked in the nuts.

I saw Bernard Purdie and Carmine Appice signing autographs. I dared Brian to ask Bernard to sign his copy of RTB. (Google "Bernard Purdie Beatles" to learn the backstory, if you don't know it.)

He done done it!

A very cool looking Tama kit.

Ross called this the "creepiest booth of the NAMM show."

When 9 strings aren't enough to play all the bass licks you learned at Berklee, then you'll need this.

Ernie Ball makes al their employees dress up. Here's a good one.

And here's another one with Ross. (I hope Ross's wife doesn't see this.)

And my favorite fashion statement of the NAMM show.

And if the sunglasses, bluetooth earpiece, electric blue satin shirt, Hari Krishna ponytail and LED display guitar strap aren't enough for you, how about a "keytar"?

The show seemed a lot smaller this year. Some of the absentees I noticed were Barry ( IZ corp ) and switchcraft to name 2. My feet are killing me. Fortunately I get to sit-n-mix tomorrow after a good nights sleep. (problem is I'm still so wired from the show)

Usually I see some big WOW products at NAMM. Didn't really this year. Still, there were a good amount of solid, expected releases.
