I am interested in buying an ADK A51 mic(s) and I have been in contact with Larry (very nice guy!) at ADK. I have done a search in this forum and maybe I missed something. Please share your experience with your ADK A51 CE with me...both pro and con. Thanks!

Thread 2

Thread 3

The cons…

1. I had a bit of a problem with the first power supply that came with the mic.
It was one of the first run PSs...and the tranny shit the bed.
They instantly sent me a temp...while I waited for their new and improved heavy duty PS.
Now I have it...and the mic sounds even better with this beefed up PS...because the juice is better distributed as you dial through all the patterns.
2. The mic is a big/heavy mother…I almost lost it once on a lighter stand!

As far as pros...

1. The mic sounds fabulous.
For my baritone voice...I've not had better, yet.
Other mics were good...but as I can get a real low Elvis/Bowie style tone at times...other mics would get a bit muddy or overpowered or "tight".
The ADK CE stays open and smooth...and I have been able to find a few patterns that just give my voice a different character, but all sound quite good.
I can work the mic in many ways...up/back...soft/loud...
...and it never flinches.
I add a little verb, and I've gotten goose bumps a couple of times...no kidding.
2. The mic is a big heavy mother! Feels like a serious mic when you see it and when you hold it.
...and if you any technical queations...get on the ADK forum and ask J.P. Gerard...or you can email him.
