Has anyone drawn out or modeled how they want their studio to look? Software or pencil & paper? I wanna do something to show my dream studio.

A cheap way to get a realistic look, in 3D and all, is by using any of the 3D home design programs, typically costing about $30 on line.
I modeled mine, and was able to look through the double doors and windows into the studio at the chairs, gear, and speakers, with the right wall coverings, etc. move around, check different points of view...Very cool. Bill

I was thinking about that. Can you import your own images as textures and/or objects? Well if not I could always Photoshop them onto a screenshot... I'm thinking of just doing it in Photoshop from scratch o_O

No, I haven't done that. But I like the above ideas. What I do is diagram the "floor plan" (including windows, heights of windows, doors, closet, etc.), making cut-out tables, racks, chairs, etc. and then shift them around until they sit just right. When you're moving around heavy equipment and tables, you want to make sure you get it right the first time.

Check out John Sayers forum. johnlsayers.com I think. They have a link to a great soft for that and great design info and ideas.

Thanks. I did this in Photoshop, taking various images of things I'd like to include in a home studio whenever I get a house. I'd like to have maroon walls, and various decorations or things that kinda give it a vibe... I like the the art of the Chinese culture so there are a couple Buddha statues in the pic (one is a biz card holder!), and the wall scrolls. Ahead of the console is a print of a black and white road. Its symbolic to me and it's at the forefront.
Below that are various little postcards - Audrey Hepburn is the 2nd one, and some other rather weird, old maybe creepy photos but I like that. To the right is a poster from the film "The Crow" as I'm a fan of that, and the beautiful Penelope Kohli. I mean, Penelope Cruz.
Theres an Apple Cinema Display, I'd probably go at least 17", maybe 23". My guitar on the right... my Fantom-S keyboard in the center of the console. This is just a conceptual layout, I'd have a keyboard and mouse beneath the Fantom probably. Whichever is the best ergonomic way of doing things, really. Maybe I'd have the Fantom off to the left side.
I like the atmosphere candles give so there'd be those, probably on stands that hold 3 candles each. I like an antique look to the lighting fixtures, the sconces on the front wall would be on the side walls probably too. And hardwood floors, probably an oriental carpet beneath the console and chair area though.

That looks tight. I'd definitely consider doing something like that first before building a new room. Of course, I drew up plans in advance on our current studio, but it was all on paper.
Good suggestions guys!

It was alot of picture pasting and distorting! I was anxious to just get it over with :p There are some odd perspectives but afterall this was a concept not an artpiece
