I have always wanted an awesome piano sound. It is down to these two solutions for me. I will ask everybody to forget about the technicals details for the moment. I have but one question to all who have actually used these software based intruments. Which of these two solutions SOUNDS better?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I would like to add a Rhodes and a string library in the future. If VST doesn't have a Rhodes library it is doomed for me.

You can probably get a good piano sound with either. I have not used The Grand, but I know some people who speak well of it. Gigastudio RAWKS... I really like it. And of course, version 3 was (finally!) announce at the last NAMM show. As far as which one sounds better, it would probably depend on which samples you have loaded into Giga...
And as far as electric pianos go, IMO, it would be pretty hard to beat Lounge Lizard. Of course, you can get EP samples and load them into Giga, but I think the lizard is pretty cool.

The Lizard is cool, but Scarbee's Rhodes in Giga is awesome. Less options, but WAY more authentic in feel and sound.
Best pianos? There are a lot out there, and more on the way. Depends on the kind of music you like. For, pop, Vintaudio, for all-around jazz/classical/pop, etc. Bardstown Bosendorfer is IMHO the best at the moment. The new White Grand looks promising, also...

I've got the White Grand and it's a SMOKIN' piano! Very expressive and a beautiful sound. A lot of the choices in pianos comes down to what your usage will be. Some are slanted toward pop/jazz (White Grand, Vintaudio Yamaha C7- also very nice btw)others toward a more classical bent (PMI Bosendorfer)so if your doing a lot of different styles it may be cool to own several different libs.

Thanks for the info guys. Since I own GSIF compatible soundcard (Echo Gina 20) and have a spare pc lying around I think I will make a dedicated GIGA-Frankenstein machine.
As far as pianos I am mostly looking for rock/pop stuff so just an all-around versatile sound will do. What is the Lounge Lizard? Who makes it? Anyone here try the Bigga Gigga Rhodes library?
