how about a thread for us blue collar hard-hat project types to compare mixes, swap ideas etc....

i'm hoping for more than just a showcase of our talents. it would be great to have different ears evaluating how we can improve our songs.

We did this in the business forum......called a comp CD. We all participated, gave it our best shot, developed a package on how we did the song, equipment used, who played, mixed and where we did the work. It really worked out great......I thought. Then we commented on each other's work on line. I thought it helped each other in revisiting our own work with the constructive comments in mind.

The produced CD from the business forum was great, and we all had the package including the writ-up to listen to at our leasure then post our comments. I thought that was a better tool and I have this in my studio library. Music on the computer doesn't allow IMHO the best to be present to the ear for commenting. I guess it would depend on what we would be commenting on to begin with.

It was a lot of work for all of us, and we all were greatful for the opportinuity to get together and produce something that was dear to us, showcase our work, and learn in a fun way.
