Ethan,

There are post asking where to buy O.C. 703 AND 705 rigid insulation.

For those who are local and not so local a good source for rigid insulation is the E.J. Davis Co.located in North Haven CT. Call for availability and directions # (203)239-5391

Also Kamco in Wallingford Conn. supposedly can get Certain Teed that is equivalentto the O.C. but they had to order it but it seemed that they did not want to be bothered which soured me.

Maybe you could start a new post people can list sources where they found rigid insulation and brand.

Randall,

I did one better and made your post a "sticky" that stays at the top. I edited it only to change the thread title. Folks, as you find local sources, add them as new posts here. Best is if you list your state and/or town near the top in bold to make it easy for people pick out as they scroll through the posts.

Central Kentucky area, I just went to a Carter Lumber and they special ordered some 703 for me. Thing is, I had to buy 24 pieces, but I only needed 20 for my room's absorbers. I used the other four pieces just framed with a hardwood back and grill cloth front. Mounted them on stands with coaster wheels so I can position the 2' by 4' absorbers or reflecters (front or back) anywhere I want.

IRIC, many have tried... Most have settled for Rockwool as it is more easily available in the UK than rigid fiberglass.

I wouldn't mind shipping it but the cost would be ridiculous I suspect. I'm having a hard time even getting decent prices into Canada.

Found 703/705 at CBM (Commercial Building Materials) at: 7075 Carpenter Rd. Ypsilanti, Michigan. Phone 734-434-4600. Had to be ordered-deposit up front. Couldn't find a website for them. Prices were about what you'd expect. Full case orders only. Got 24 pieces 1"X24"X48" for $131.00. About .68 square foot

Just as a heads up...

I've been told by my supplier that Owens Corning is planning a 9% price hike sometime in November of this year.

As an example, unless you live in the boonies or way out on the West Coast, I can get 1" to you for just a little over $1/SF including shipping. 2" is about $1.80/SF including shipping. This assumes $25 shipping for a box of 6 pcs of 2" or 12 pcs of 1". Many times it's less.

Some places will sell the material cheaper but jack up the shipping prices to look good on price searches.

They handle FIBREX and other 703-705 equivalents for a very reasonable price...much less than others mentioned on this board. Very good to work with. Also, have spray adhesives at great price. I have bought a big bunch from them. Dudley Miller

Does anybody know where I can find Mineral Wool in the S.F. bay area?

SPI has Roxul for .70 (2") a square foot, but it's not even 8 pcf. And it's loose rockwool. They're not even willing to order 8 pcf for me.

I don't get it. It seems like Texas and Virginia and everywhere else has it coming out of their ears and I can't find anything. I've been calling and surfing for hours.

I'm hearing of people getting the 8 pcf stuff for .59 a square foot in Portland, and .39 a square foot in Oklahoma.

I'm willing to drive to the valley if there's somewhere over there that has it.

Anybody?
