Hi everyone,

My basement is currently under construction for my new studio. The problem I am having is deciding which way to go about sound absorption and or diffusion. The biggest problem is that the rooms are so small. The vocal booth (surrounded by brick) is 8'1L x 8'2W x 7'H. A lot of the post here are about listening rooms but what should I do about my small booth. The listening room is 10'4L x 8'2W x 7". I know I'm going to have a lot of trouble containing bass in this room, so what should I do? Will Ethans bass traps and panel with OC 703 be efficient? I don't have a lot of space to lose on the walls so its difficult deciding what to do.

Someone please help.

I have a jpeg of the floor plan but I don't know how to attach it. Please help!!

For rooms that small you should use rigid fiberglass panels. Put thick ones across the corners for bass traps. You can use thinner panels for mid/high absorption elsewhere around the room.

If you haven't yet, also read the Acoustics FAQ, second in the list on my Articles page:
