Hi there Ethan and everyone

I am new on here...

I just read your response on rec.audio.pro
to a guy about his room not being able to get good results as it is very
small. \:\(

I have a room I want to convert and it is about 8ft long 6 ft wide and 7 ft high.
I am not a pro engineer, I just want to get really good results as myself
and a friend write songs and are trying to market them, so we want a very
classy finished article which will translate to many different systems. I
intend to get some really good monitors soon, and purchase some bass traps
from your company over here in UK. I didn't read anything as I recall about
very small rooms being no good on your excellent website. Without going into
too much detail, is it really a lost cause? Surely I can learn to compensate
and learn the room? What will be the missing/overaugmented frequencies??

If you or anyone else could find time to reply I would be really grateful.
Especially someone in same boat as me who produces brilliant mixes in a boxroom.... \:\)

Jimmy,

Yeah, that's really small. Adding a lot of bass traps will be much than having no bass traps, but I'm afraid that's the most optimism I can muster.

Is there any chance you can find a larger space to work in?

The topic of this thread looks like the subject line of so many emails that go to my hotmail inbox...

I've treated a similarly sized, slightly bigger room - 8x9x8, and noticed an incredible improvement.

Tips about the inbox messages, or about the room?

\:\)

Not really any tips though, pretty much just do all things ethan's writeups suggests you do. It's not rocket science.
