Hi Ethan,
I currently have these 1" panels mounted flush to the wall. Would I gain any bass trapping benefit by have them straddle the corners? Would I need to stuff the corner behind the panel to make it effective?

Yes, and if you place several of them together to make thicker panels they'll work even better. Two inches thick is okay, but four inches is better still.

The problem is that they are cloth covered already. But I'll definetley corner mount them.
