No it is not the same - it is actually Rock Wool....... or Therma Fiber (which ever you choose to call it)

Check the specs on either of those for a comparison.

Rod is right, of course, and I should have been clearer. Rock wool is not made of the same material as fiberglass, though it serves the same purpose and behaves similarly. As Rod said, the best/only way to know is to compare absorption specs.

1.11 @ 125Hz
0.91 @ 250Hz
1.07 @ 500Hz

2" is listed:
0.32 @ 125Hz
0.90 @ 250Hz
1.11 @ 500Hz
