Hi!!

I just have a few questions + would be really grateful if you could help me out. My studio is small 9 x 9 with a ceiling of 9. Nightmare size I know. All walls are concrete and the floor is tiles (I live in Spain, so all floors are like that)

I'm gonna put bass traps along each corner and hang a duvet against the wall that is opposite my monitors.

My window has curtains and there is a double bed in their with a 4 inch thick foam matress, this is against the same wall I hang the duvet.

My questions are:-
I would prefer not to do anything to the ceiling, so can I just carpet or put lino on the floor to cover that angle

Also, I've seen bass traps in clubs and there are some cool ones covered in PVC vinyl. Can I use vinyl instead of plywood or will this adversely affect the reflections

Re the bass traps in the corners, I thought the best way would be to have 3 types in each corner, starting from the bottom with a low end trap, then on top of that a mid bass trap and on the top a high end bass trap.

Will all of this be effective enough to deaden my room?

Please help!!!

Cheers

Doll,

For a room that small I wouldn't bother building wood panel traps. More sensible is to treat all the wall/wall corners with thick rigid fiberglass, and some of the wall/ceiling corners too if you can manage. Then hang one or more duvets. If you also carpet the floor that should do a good job. It will probably be very dead sounding, but that's your best option in such a small, cube-shaped room.
