This is my studio floor plan, the measures are not "exact" but it's close enought.
The room is done, everthing painted, doors in place, windows, etc. Just need to treat it!
I did two bass traps from plywood on the back of the control room (see draw) the plywood is 2.10 x 1.60 w/ 50mm soft fiberglass glued to the back. I'm thinking about having more fiberglass in the front of the bass traps and have it covered w/ some light fabric so the traps can work as highs absorbers too.
The ceiling "cardboarded gypsium" (is that how you call it?) is 3.6m high and is parallel to the floor which is concrete, so I was thinking about having some hard 50mm fiberglass fixed on the ceiling in some places, not all the ceiling, and in some of those places, fix 2 or 3 of the fiberglass panels so I could have a "not that flat" surface w/ regular ceiling, 50mm, 100mm and 150mm of panels? What do you guys think?
What do I need to do w/ the walls????
Every help is welcome!!!!

Jero,

How thick is the plywood? Did you build this from someone else's plans, or just make it up yourself?

For a good overview of acoustic treatment and bass traps see the Acoustics FAQ, second in the list on my Articles page:

Ethan,

The plywood is 15mm and I think I saw some plans of this kind of absorbers on the web, don't remember if it was on the SAE College Website or somewhere else... what do you think about it? \:\)

Jeronimo,

If you can post a link to those plans I'll have a look and try to comment. In the mean time, see the Acoustics FAQ I mentioned above. It will answer a lot of your questions.

The design is "based" on the PANEL ABSORBERS on the SAE College website... but instead of doing in like a box, I built it like a "triangle", look at the picture and you'll understand. The panel is closed on the top and it's all sealed with "glue" (I don't know the exact type of the glue in English) between the plywood and the wall.
Tell me what you think \:\) !

This pics shows where in the ceiling I'll fix the 1.20 x 0.60 50mm rigid fiberglass panels.
The blue ones will be 2 panels fixed together (100mm), the yellow ones will be 3 panels together (150mm) and the red ones will be only one panel. That makes 30 panels all together... do you guys think this will help reducing standing waves between the floor and the ceiling?

I really can't say if your change will be better or worse. Usually when building things from plans it's a good idea to follow the plans exactly. Unless you understand the design well enough to modify it with confidence.

As for your ceiling panels, that looks good. If you hang them a few inches below the ceiling they'll work even better.
