Well I'm laid up from playing my guitar for a while. I have somekinda piched nerve in my back and every time I have my arms above my waist for more that 2 minutes my arms fall asleep. It's just luck that I don't have any gigs for a couple of weeks. This is right when were trying to get a house fixed up to move. I see the man tomorrow. Ahhhh.

Pinched nerve, huh? What are you doing for it?

It's funny that you should post that now. I have been having the same problem and my two middle fingers on my fretting hand have been chronically numb (for over a week now).

Do you believe in chiropractors?

May be helpful in this case....Don't just wait for it to go away.

Funny you should say that. I do now. I found a good one who fixed the problem on one try. He also isn't one of those guys who wants you to come back 5 times a week for a year. He gave me exercises to take care of the problem. Though I might go back for a follow up just because it was so bad to begin with.

Mstreck...

I hear you about the numbness...I think some of it has to do with some repetetive stress injuries, rather mild cases of carpal tunnel and all. That can cause that as well as back problems.

I've also acquired a case of trigger finger. Right now, it seems to be manageable, but I'm not sure for how long.

BTW...for those who don't know..."trigger finger" is the inability to bend your fingers past a certain point. If you do, they'll "snap" like a trigger, and it's usually painful.

Tedster:

I've also been told that the numbness could be cardiac related. I'm getting it checked out this week.

Ugh. I hate getting older.

I also found out that I have Carpal Tunnel in not one but both hands. I'm wearing those black wrist braces to sort the thing out. I had it once years ago and the braces cleared in up. Good luck to you other guys.
Now I've got to play two nights this weekend. It'll be interesting to see if I can get through it with my arms not asleep...

I cut my finger real bad, right on the right index middzle knuckle. It's almost healed, but I've lost some mobility. I can still play bass, but I can't pop with that finger without some discomfort.

I'm not a slapper anyway so it's all good.
