How many of you have a method for knowing who your "fans" are, and keeping them up to date on your shows and activity.

I've seen bands do websites, e-mail mailing lists, phone "hot-lines", give away contests, new-release parties and other things...

Do you do any of this? If so, do you manage it yourself, or have someone help you?

Internet, baby.

All Internet.

We have an e-mail newsletter that goes out twice every month. That's KEY.

We also talk to our peeps online via instant messenger all the time.

One other thing.. we don't do the "fan" thing.. we don't have "fans," we have friends. Yeah, we may have a shitload of 'em, but we consider everyone who comes to see us our friends. The word "fan" sort of implies that there's a separation between the people onstage and the people who make the music... we want no separations there. The music belongs to all of us. We're just the guys who play it.
