I can't help you, but I will wish you good luck.
I take it you're thoroughly familiar with your local scene, and it's pretty stale.
If you're serious about moving, you might check out another country, just for a visit, anyway. Doesn't have to be way far away...could be a neighbor like Sweden or Norway. We've got a few posters on the various forums from that area, they could possibly enlighten you as to what the scenes in those areas hold. Mats Olssen (geez...haven't seen Mats in awhile, wonder where he is?) and Master Zap are from those parts.
The reason I mention that idea is that it seems foreigners are always cool in a band situation...
"Hey dudes, check out our new guitar player, he's from Finland, he's gotta be good".

Hey, I got a friend named Billy Cobham. (really, I do!)
He liked playing Europe ... so much more than the States ... (and like the money and the no taxes situation), ... that he moved to Switzerland to live and play.
Of course he is a celebrity in the drum world, and monster player, but my point, ... perhaps you should check out Switzerland.

Billy Cobham is a friend of yours? Du-uuuude...
No way I could match that, except to say I used to jam with DiMeola.
Frank DiMeola...great mechanic.

Hehe, so I'm not the only one here who's from Finland! Unfortunately I don't have a glam rock band and I'm not going to play in one in the near future. Though why not. I like Hanoi Rocks very much.
ps. You should check out the Andy McCoy thread from guitar forum!
