Our bassist (who also sings lead on most of our stuff) and I do the writing, sometimes separately, sometimes in collaboration. Both of us write both music and lyrics, so there's no set pattern there, it's whatever works. If one of us is having trouble finishing something the other will help.
Our drummer doesn't write songs, per se, but he's a great help in that if one of us has a song idea we want to flesh out, we can run it past him and work out some rough arrangements on unfinished tunes, just to give some substance to the idea and see if it will work. Usually, if it does, having the band work on it provides the necessary impetus to finish it. That's the great thing about writing within the context of a band.
