I heard someone mention performance royalties. What's the difference between performance & mechanical or is there a performance royalty? Thanks Dr. Al & everyone.
as a songwriter, if you belong to BMI, ASCAP or SESAC, you are paid a royalty everytime your song is PERFORMED on the radio, TV movies, cable, the net. Their accounting leaves something to be desired, but it's a lovely source of income.
