Al, it is great to talk to you. I know that the super-mega-music stores have been a fly in the ointment for some time. Has your view changed? Have there been any stores GC, Mars, etc that have caused you to think that there might be hope?
The big two moved into our state, but it has only helped the smaller guys, because it is the smaller guys that have the great help, they are actually IN music related industries, and they have the high-end products.
i think there is room for both. The first time customer is usually gonna gravitate to the big store. The repeat customer likes to have a relationship with a sales clerk who can lower prices for him/her on an often-repeating schedule. And you're right. there's nothing worse than an uninformed salesman in a music store.
