I have been having a hard time trying to put My music where it fits best. I love all styles of music and I do my own thing. My question is do I really need to seperate all of my songs to fit them in one of the basic music styles like rock,pop,blues,jazz,folk
or should I just pick those that have the same rythm or feel?

follow your heart. If Dave Matthews had tried to conform to any tried and true template, he wouldn't have achieved the huge success he did. Just compile what you feel shows you off the best. Ask people whose opinions you respect what they think as well, but in the end, do what you think is right for you and good luck!
