Our band has recorded a song written and published by our singer's cousin from and in Norway. Our version is being released in the US on a compilation CD with all profits going to the Childrens Miracle Network, with permission from the writer. My question is, as we are getting airplay, what should we do to fairly protect all interested parties, and does out band have any rights to publishing our version?

If ALL profits/rights are going to the Childrens Miracle Network, what exactly are you driving at? FYI - the only people that get AIRPLAY money are the writer & the publisher, and being part of a CD compilation with todays tight radio programming and napster, dont give up your day job for this release BUT>>>>>
good luck & congratulations nonetheless it's a start!

To clarify, the proceeds from CD sales go to the Childrens Miricle Network. I was realy wondering if we as a band could have or establish publishing rights for our version of the song in this country. Thanks for your responce. Wayne

Unless the publishing rights are encumbered by a contract, I don't see any reason why you can't.
