Hi Al,
I was wondering what is the best way to get a job working in a recording studio? How do I break into the business, and are these places that advertise for recording jobs for real? Last question is, what could I expect to be paid as an entry level engineer? I live near Detroit. Thanks for your help!
Mike

Hi Mike It is my experience that the entry level engineer begins work at a studio as a janitor/go-fer, then ascends to assistant engineer, then finally full engineer. Some schools like Berklee, find slots for their most promising graduates that avoid the janitor/assistant ladder, but it's rare. So I guess you should psyche up for cleaning lavatories for a few months.....good luck!!!
