Hello Al, you are a funny guy!
I am a pro producer embarking for the first time on some 'no more Mr Nice Guy' type spec deals, "my way or the highway' etc etc. The first act have agreed to pay for 3 days in a big tracking studio, and I spend the rest of my life overdubbing & mixing the 3 songs at my place on Pro Drools. We will jointly own the master recordings, but the main deal is...
They have agreed to giving me a 20% publishing share of the 3 (best) songs I have cherry picked to demo/master as well as a re recording clause (3 points on the work I originate and 1 point if they re record it again without me)
(Am I Satan already?)
My question to you is:
Do I get written in as songwriter for %20? or become the tracks publisher with a 20/80 split? Which will get me the beach front property in malibou?
Help me grow my fin, I am currently just a pirannah wanting to move up to barracuda and eventually, shark.
Oh and I LIKE music too, even if it is from underwater.
