To be honest, I prefer not to hear how others approach a tune!

I have been experimenting with many variables relative to audio and video.

This was the first time I have tried any sort of backwards tracking. It's not something I do on a regular basis, trust me.

I do love to play, I love to share what I play, so hopefully you guys and gals will dig what I have coming up in the future.

I don't have a website, I am just a regular cat sittin' at home, playing the way I want. Y'know?

I just love the guitar, man.

Thanks,

B Kent

Well no we don't have a dedicated slot where all the leads are kept BUT I WISH WE DID DOC!!!....no I guess what I meant was for him or other new guys to scroll back up the pages and look on the posts for the comments and usually it will refer to what track was played over. HUMMMMM how difficult would it be to make a place to store the lead work on any of the particular backing tracks? kinda like I did with the "where to find local guitar techs" thread...oh an buy the way Doc thanks for booting that thread up again ..I do boot it now and then to keep it on the front page allot!

I had a quick go at the new track I posted up. I did three different takes on it, the first is a Hammond B3 patch using my guitar synth controller and the free Xpand soft synth from Digidesign. Next is a bit of acoustic using the Taylor Big Baby and lastly some clean EMG equiped Strat type guitar.

As usual all mistakes and clipping left in, not trying to make a masterpiece here, just have fun with it.

Hope you like it.

Lol Fumbly, you beat me to it. I was thinking of dusting off my Roland guitar synth for this track, its seems ready made for it. Your take sounds awesome, Surf/Jazz?, are you trying to invent a new genre?

Thanks Gruupi, yeah get out that Roland and fire it up. I had fun doing these solo's,even considering my youngest has chickenpox right now and I only get these little brief periods in the studio. I wish I had made the backing track longer, I can see throwing in a distorted guitar as well and then bringing all the instruments in at the end, all going off for a grand finale LOL

Bond.......James Bond, I presume?

A guitar synth, eh? That is too cool, Fumbles. Buy the way, you are difinately a Strat mavin

Your strat tone here reminds me of "Reach The Beach", by The Fixx.....who I loved, btw.

I am computer underserved currently. I MUST gear up, and get back to some recording......

Thanks Doc. The synth stuff is a bit dissonant, I might change it up at some point.

I was really into the Fixx myself. I was dissapointed when I saw them live in LA, as the singer just had no stage presence at all and his stage clothes were just weird and outdated. I know that seems superficial, but it is hard to explain. You had to have been there. They were a very lame "show", but the music was good. Somehow it was hard to connect the stage show to the music if that makes sense.

After years of listening to really killer albums, the live show was a let down, and I was so excited on the way there to finally get to see them. The guitar player has such a great tone, especially the rhythm stuff.

Mayhaps I just caught a bad show...it happens.

I saw The Fixx in the mid '80's, and really enjoyed the show. Cy Curnin, their singer, has such a unique and cool voice. I can't say that I remember much dramatic going on at the show, visually or performance wise. But, as I recall, it was really atmospheric....their music and tone can put you in "a zone".

"Reach The Beach" is one of my all time fav's.

Sounds good Lee, but if you had downloaded the backing from the Theory Thread you would have had a version without all my crap on it, just space for your solo. Why don't you go get it and have another crack at it so we don't have to listen to me cluttering it up.

That one is the reason I should *not* be allowed near any kind of effect unit, or alike, ever.

Yes indeed....what do we need a new track to peak the interest ?

Are all those blues jam tracks still over at the GC site? I imagine we could use one as I saw no licensing issues....anyone else aware of anything?

*I see they have them in Garage Band format now also. I just cecked, you can download these is MP3 format and I see no rules or regs.

I notice all the GC produced tracks have been pulled.....only the Pete Anderson ones are still available. I'd go get 'em.....I got them already. Even if just for jamming at home.

Hi all!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, just busy times on my end.
I contacted Lee (Ellwood) about using one of his backings awhile ago and I've finaly had some time to do something with it.

I had a little Christmas tune earmarked for it that I thought would work. I know it's early for Christmas, but I wanted to get this done for the holidays and maybe some sort of Holiday CD...maybe \:\)

Anyway, I call it My New Years Looking Blue.

Thanks Lee!
