Here is a very quickly done funk track for anyone who wants to, solo over it. I included both HiFi and LoFi links, if you have broadband use the HiFi. It should also be downloadable as an MP3, it is 128kbps, for those who want to drop it into a DAW. If you have any problems with the link just go to my Soundclick site at the bottom of this post or click Artist Page or Songs in the player.

This was done very quickly, no thought, lot's of mistakes and crappy playing all that apologetic stuff, I'm not a bass player etc etc etc.........

HiFi

LoFi

Set your DAW to 95bpm and the chords are Am7#9, D9, E7#9

Some may take issue with my naming of the Am chord.... \:\)

Anyway I hope someone has fun with this.

Fumble......sweet groove there. I may be able to fake some lead on that......but first,

How do I download it to a CD, so I can bring it to my studio computer which has Protools on it??

Go to the 17 songs link>Funkforum>MP3 download. Once you have the MP3 on your desktop you should be ok

I'll try it Fumbly but its gonna be tough. I have a hard time playing over long meter stuff, I never know when the changes are coming. That is a cool groove you have going though, nice funky chords.

I just noticed Elwoods post as I was typing, I'll have to go check that one out as well.

Fumbly, that's kinda like the bossa/samba clave you're funkying out there. Very groovy, man.

I'm supposed to get an Audix i5 this week. Maybe I'll try it w/ this.

Hey Fumble, when I was just at your site I noticed the Dorian clips. I assume this was a response to my question on modes. Anyways, thanks. Its great to hear that played over a straight blues concept. And oh yeah, you are player and have a great tone.

Thanks all , I appreciate it...now let's get some soloing going.

Yeah just download the mp3's into your computer, import the mp3 to a stereo track and then create a stereo or mono track and add a solo or whatever you want. Mix it, bounce to mp3 again and post it at your own Soundclick site.

If the mods give us a sticky we can post our links there or whatever.

I am just going to concentrate on getting a solo done for each...perhaps in the next couple days...the missus is wanting me to spend some family time so got to go do that.

Catch you guys soon.

Drumcore

Awesome drum loops. They come as collections of beats and fills and you put them together. They also have MIDI files for all the beats and you can assign the different drummers kits to them. They have a range of tempo's for each beat and it is not just sped up or slowed, each beat for each tempo is played seperately so you get different nuances.

I like it a lot.

I'd be in on this but I'm not a Soundclick member. Is there a better way of generically hosting or sending the MP3s? You could even post wavs via yousendit.

Hmm...thinking out loud here. Maybe some kind of joint venture between this forum and soundclick. They could host a jam track genre. They would have to police it for copywrite infringement but I think it could be something that would be of benefit to them.

PBBPaul, soundclick is free so you should at least consider signing up. I looked around a bit when I was looking for a site to post on, and that one seemed the easiest and least intrusive.

I just signed up on soundclick last night, in order to get involved with this. I found it easy to do, no cost, etc.. I was easily able to get the audio clips form fumbly and ellwood, and burn them to a CD. Next I gotta get to the studio with the CD, and mess around a tad. Gotta make some icing...and lay it down on top!

I was attempting to contribute to Fumbly's rhythm track, but I am going to attribute my string of mediocre takes to an 'off day.' I think the idea of forum track-jams is great; especially if we could somehow each take a piece of the same track \:D

Don't be too picky on yourself, you can always post a better take at another time....besides mistakes and all make it more genuine and from the heart....go for it. I am really looking forward to hearing you guys blowing over these tracks.

We can set up a take where a few guys throw down on a few bars etc etc...perhaps a longer track would be good for that and we can establish an order of who goes next etc...I am up for it.

You want mistakes? You got it!

I tried not to wank around the fretboard and the result was I ended up repeating things over and over.

It's not easy for me to play a 2 - 4 minute solo from the top of my head and keep it interesting. I do keep practicing though.

Anyway, just click the link on my sig. It should be at the top of the list of tunes I have. It'll be there in a few minutes.

Nice vibe HT, I like it a lot. I did not sense you were repeating stuff a lot at all....sounds great, nice tone also. The solo moves along really cool, I feel like I am right there. Nice work.

I gotta go see fireworks...later y'all.
